Kia Forte Q&A

Does The Kia Forte Have A Spare Tire?

World Car Kia North

Where is the spare tire in my 2019 Kia Forte?

Most car owners expect to find a spare tire in their trunk, especially in a new vehicle. Contrary to this belief, spare tires are becoming increasingly rare in new cars. Actually, the more recent your Kia Forte model is, the more likely it is that it does not have a spare tire included. If you bought a Kia Forte that was manufactured after 2013, chances are it does not include a spare tire. As an alternative, Kia Forte owners will find a Tire Mobility Kit (TMK) under the trunk floorboard.

Why do Kia vehicles no longer include spare tires?

Replacing spare tires with tire repair kits is a popular trend. Many manufacturers are no longer including spare tires because it significantly lowers the weight of the vehicle, increases cargo space, and boosts fuel economy. Improving the fuel economy rating in turn saves gas, saves money, and protects the environment. The advantages of replacing the spare tire outweigh the cons.

Kia offers a Tire Mobility Kit (TMK) instead of a spare tire

Inside your Kia Forte, you will find a Kia Tire Mobility Kit in the trunk. The inflator kit includes:

-          Aerosol sealant

-          Filing hose

-          Compressor

-          Tire gauge

-          Cables and hoses.

For more in depth information see your owner’s manual. These types of kits are designed to repair small punctures until you can get your car to a service center. If you have any other questions or concerns about the Tire Mobility Kit or your new Kia Forte, feel free to contact us at World Car Kia North near Cibolo.
